The Challenge
With enrolments growing, Alphington Grammar needed additional classrooms quickly.
Traditional construction wasn’t feasible, and any solution had to meet council requirements, reflect the quality expected of an independent school, and integrate seamlessly with the existing environment, without disrupting learning or compromising their leafy, environmentally sensitive campus along Darebin Creek.

The Solution
Harwyn delivered a fully customised modular classroom solution, designed in collaboration with the school.
Tailored to site conditions and not a standard off-the-shelf build, the double-storey classrooms were designed to feel permanent, complement the surrounding bushland, allow for future expansion, and be delivered within a tight timeframe.

The Outcome
Four new classrooms were installed and ready for use by Term 3, receiving positive feedback from students, staff and Council.
The success of the project has positioned Alphington Grammar to expand further, with construction currently underway to create a village of classrooms and staff offices. For business managers, the project demonstrates how high-quality modular buildings can support enrolment growth, reduce disruption, and meet planning expectations, all without sacrificing design or longevity.
